The Role:

We are currently recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in various secondary schools across Lancashire. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting students and teachers in the classroom, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will be working under the guidance of qualified teachers, providing valuable assistance to students across different subjects and year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.

  • Provide support to students during lessons, both individually and in small groups.

  • Help students with learning activities, ensuring they understand instructions and stay on task.

  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.

  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with teachers and other school staff.

  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.

  • Participate in school activities and events.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a primary degree.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be passionate about education and supporting students.

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Be patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic.

  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions.

  • Be committed to the well-being and safeguarding of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with young people (voluntary or paid).

  • Knowledge of the UK secondary education system.

  • Strong academic background in core subjects.

  • A desire to pursue a career in teaching.
