In this crucial role, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver targeted phonics interventions and support whole-class phonics sessions. Your focus will be on helping pupils develop a strong understanding of letter sounds, blending, segmenting, and tricky words, ultimately building their confidence and fluency in reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Working with small groups of children or individual pupils to deliver planned phonics activities and interventions, tailored to their specific needs.
Supporting the class teacher during whole-class phonics lessons, ensuring all pupils are engaged and making progress.
Preparing and organising resources for phonics activities.
Monitoring and recording pupils' progress in phonics, providing feedback to the teacher.
Helping to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages a love of reading.
Reinforcing phonics learning through games and practical activities.
Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement to build pupils' confidence.
Liaising effectively with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to phonics teaching.
