Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Year 1 - 1:1 Support & Classroom Assistant)Location: Blackburn

Job Description:We are seeking a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a Year 1 class in a primary school in Blackburn. This role involves a combination of classroom support and one-to-one assistance with a child who requires personal care. You will play a key part in helping the child access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel included and supported throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and managing the classroom environment
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 1, including assistance with personal care
  • Assist with break time and lunchtime supervision
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all pupils

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally including experience with personal care or working 1:1 with pupils with additional needs
  • Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
