Interim Working Capital Lead - Blackburn - 6 Months FTC - £35,000 to £40,000 + Benefits

We are looking for an experienced Interim Working Capital Lead with a background in large multisite or Shared Service Centre teams on a 6-month contract basis. This critical role will focus on optimising working capital across the business, with a strong emphasis on cash management through the  Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)  functions. The role will be offered on a Fixed-Term Contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the end-to-end working capital cycle, driving improvements in cash flow performance
  • Lead and coordinate AP and AR activities to optimise payment terms, collections, and cash forecasting
  • Monitor and analyse key working capital metrics ensuring KPI’s are met
  • Partner with Procurement, Commercial, and Operations teams to influence behaviours around payment practices and billing cycles
  • Ensure robust cash flow forecasting through close collaboration with FP&A and treasury
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the working capital cycle, driving efficiency and control
  • Support internal stakeholders and provide regular updates to senior finance leadership

About You:

  • A strong finance professional with a track record in working capital management
  • Proven experience overseeing AP and AR teams or functions within a complex business environment
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cash flow drivers
  • Highly analytical with excellent Excel and reporting skills
  • Confident communicator, able to influence across finance and non-finance teams
