We are seeking a proactive and skilled electrical bias Maintenance engineer to join a Blackburn based Manufacturer who are currently experiencing major growth.
This role is essential for maintaining and optimising production machinery within a successful manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous operations. Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as the first responder to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and recording details in the CMMS.
- Collaborate with shift crews and day teams to resolve issues, ensuring smooth handover of unresolved breakdowns across shifts.
- Execute assigned routines such as motor checks, HMI programming, and maintenance of panel cooling units.
- Respond to electrical/control system faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Log all activities and labour time in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
- Set up machines to maximise output while maintaining safety systems.
- Prepare detailed shift reports with technical recommendations.
- Attend shift handovers and highlight training needs.
- Promote operator engagement with EAM work requests.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- 2-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams and using diagnostic instruments.
- Skilled in motor control systems, drives, sensors, and PLC I/O checks.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
