Reception Teaching Assistant needed for a Primary School in Blackburn
We're currently working with a lovely primary school who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide general classroom support in their Reception class.

This is a full-time role starting soon, expected to last 6-8 weeks. You'll be working closely with the class teacher to help create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment for the children.

About the role:

You'll be providing general support across the Reception classroom. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Supporting children during lessons, group work, and playtime
  • Helping with early phonics, reading, and number work
  • Assisting the class teacher with preparing resources and setting up activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children settle into routines
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of the children

Who we're looking for:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 6 months of experience in a similar role within a school setting
  • A strong background in EYFS and confidence working within the early years framework
  • Good knowledge of phonics, particularly Read Write Inc
  • A friendly, proactive approach and a genuine interest in early years education

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience supporting early assessments and observations
  • Knowledge of continuous provision and child-led learning
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
