Are you a qualified solicitor who has current or past experience with Industrial Disease case work? This firm has the role for you. The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of military cases against the Ministry of Defence and should be able to manage these with confidence and knowledge in line with the Company’s exceptional customer service standards. The role handler will also be responsible for some industrial disease cases where required.Job ContextThe role will demand an excellent understanding of all aspects of litigation in personal injury, specifically military claims and knowledge also of industrial disease claims. The role holder must have an ability to manage a high workload whilst at the same time have a solid understanding of litigation and the Civil Procedure Rules and the regulations and legislation concerning military claims.The role holder will be responsible for taking individual responsibility for a caseload of military claims both litigated and pre-litigated alongside responsibility for industrial disease claims where appropriate. The caseload will consist of complex and/or high value military claims and some Industrial Disease claims.You will be able: 
  • To demonstrate a solid understanding of the technical issues involved in dealing with a litigated case
  • To demonstrate an excellent understanding of the civil procedure rules
  • To have an excellent working knowledge of Military Claims, Noise Induced Hearing Loss and/or Short Tail Industrial Disease and Long Tail Industrial Disease and relevant case law
  • To demonstrate the ability to take on individual responsibility within the context of a team environment
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Solicitor status with 5 year’s PQE
  • Experience of dealing with complex claims against the Ministry of Defence, fast track/multi-track litigated Industrial Disease cases
  • Excellent working knowledge of the CPR
  • Excellent drafting capabilities of court documents
  • Excellent advocacy skills
  • A working knowledge of PROCLAIM or equivalent
