Job Overview
Our Client are a privately owned establishment. They specialise in designing and manufacturing a range of bespoke roofing products. They are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of transport services, maintaining high standards of customer service, and optimising the use of resources. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics and office operations.
Duties
- Manage and coordinate all transport activities to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Collaborate with other departments to align transport services with overall business objectives.
- Apply logistics for all 7 vehicles, one being a 7.5T
- Responsible for a team of six staff members
- Oversee the scheduling of transport routes and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency in logistics operations.
- Maintain relationships with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports on transport activities.
- Ensure that all transport staff are trained and adhere to safety standards.
- Manage budgets related to transport operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Solid understanding of logistics processes and best practices.
- Essential- hold a valid CPC and knowledge of scheduling
- Proficient in office applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Solid understanding of logistics processes and best practices.
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with IT systems relevant to transport management.
