Our key client, A well-established engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in metallics to drive process excellence for a range of aerospace applications. Role Overview
In this role, you will develop and optimise production methods, ensuring that components are manufactured efficiently and meet stringent quality requirements. The position calls for a strong technical foundation in metallics manufacturing, process improvement, and compliance with aerospace standards.
Core Responsibilities

Reviewing manufacturing processes and work cross-functionally to enhance techniques such as machiningand treatment processesfor metallics.

Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support production excellence.

Lead process validation, trials, and cost, quality, and performance improvements.

Troubleshoot technical process challenges, maintaining production reliability and working with operators on the shop floor- RCA's, Critical actions etc..

Champion continuous improvement initiatives targeting efficiency and waste reduction.

Partner with quality to assure alignment withcompliance frameworks (e.g., AS9100) -Material reviews and Engineering issues.

Maintain thorough documentation for all processes and quality standards.

Stay informed about emerging technologies in metallics andproduction.

Support and train technical staff in best practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications

HNC,or equivalent apprenticeship (NVQ3 or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline.

3+ years of experience in metallics manufacturing, preferably within aerospace or similar.

Familiarity withmetallic material processes, including treatment specifications for Aluminium and special steels.

Ability to read engineering drawings(CAD - Solidworks/ Catia)

Knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, FAA.

Experience in NPI, prototypes and solutions for customers, working with Engineers on new parts and how they're manufactured.

Demonstrable problem-solving ability and process troubleshooting skills.

Effective communicator and team collaborator.

Strong project management and time management skills.

Previous hands-on, CNC manufacturingexperience is highly desirable.
