The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, working alongside the wider engineering team to deliver high-quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Produce 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD
- Design new equipment and improve existing machinery and systems
- Update drawings, assemblies, and layouts as projects evolve
- Prepare technical documentation: reports, manuals, specifications
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and project teams
- Support technical problem-solving across machinery and equipment
- Ensure designs meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience in design or manufacturing engineering
- Experience with machinery, pipework, assemblies, or similar equipment
- Competent in 3D CAD – ideally SolidWorks
- Project management experience
- Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Interest in global projects, travel opportunities, and long-term development
