Join an established engineering business as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in the development of innovative machinery and precision-engineered systems. You'll support the design and development of complex machinery from concept through to manufacture, while gaining valuable experience in a variety of engineering disciplines, including risk assessments, compliance, and technical documentation.



What you'll be doing:

  • Support all aspects of machine design, including both conceptual and detailed engineering.
  • Ensure designs meet Machinery Directive and legislative standards.
  • Assist with Risk Assessments and FMEA as part of project safety and reliability.
  • Participate in and organise multi-disciplinary design reviews.
  • Help produce technical documentation including specifications, manuals, and operation/maintenance guides.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to support smooth project delivery.
  • Provide on-site or remote technical service support, where required.


What you'll bring:

  • A degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor or similar).
  • Enthusiasm for mechanical design and precision engineering.
  • A strong eye for detail and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, risk assessment practices, or Machinery Directive (a plus, not essential).
