Salary of the Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Heavy Equipment Mechanic:   £40,000.00 pa to £60,000.00 pa (depending on experience) Â
Hours of work for the Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Heavy Equipment Mechanic:Â Â Â Monday to Friday Days 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday; 7am to 3.30pm Friday
My client, are looking for an experienced Mechanic for their site near Nelson, you will be working on all types of Heavy Vehicles repairing, maintaining and servicing the fleet of excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, small tools, wagons, cars and vans
The Role of the Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / Plant Engineer / Heavy Equipment Mechanic:
- Repairing, and preparation for site, construction equipment, from small tools, up to 20t. excavators, and everything in between.
- Servicing and repairing a small fleet of vans, cars and wagons.
- Planned and preventative maintenance, for all plant and wagons to ensure equipment reliability.
- Some welding and cutting – experience desirable but not essential.
- Using diagnostic equipment, when needed – experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge.
- An understanding of, LOLER and PUWER.
- Ordering of parts for maintaining the fleet.
- Keeping the workshop and yard tidy.
- Keeping detailed records of, inspections, and service reports, for all plant and vehicles.
- Workshop and onsite work as required.
- Good communication, teamwork, and flexibility.
- Class 2 wagon licence advantageous.
Required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a similar role in the construction industry preferable.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to use own initiative.
- Able to prioritise workload.
