- Ability to support people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives.Â
- Understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers would be an advantage but if you have had experience supporting with other diagnosis or support requirements this would be taken into consideration.Â
- Experience with communicating with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding at all levels.Â
- Able to network effectively and collaborating with other professionals to achieve a positive outcome for people.Â
- Good IT skills, experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).Â
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.Â
- Confident in public speaking and talking about dementia with the potential to eventually run Carers Information Programmes.Â
- Have local knowledge of the East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen area.Â
- Supporting people affected by dementia, families and carers to access vital services.Â
- Attending diagnostic clinics run by the Memory Assessment ServiceÂ
- Improving people’s sense of well-being, enabling them to have more control over their lives.Â
- Assisting with the identification of needs, providing information and access to relevant services.Â
- Organising and attending dementia support hubs and other networking eventsÂ
- Promoting our amazing service and building relationships with a range of health and social care professionals.Â
