Are you an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in court proceedings? Blackburn’s Children’s Court Team is looking for a dedicated locum Social Worker to take on an ongoing contract, working on complex cases and ensuring the best outcomes for vulnerable children.

As a Children’s Court Team Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of care proceedings, preparing comprehensive reports, and providing expert evidence in court. You will work closely with legal teams, guardians, and partner agencies to ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of children.

• Manage a caseload of complex care proceedings and ensure children’s welfare is the top priority.

• Prepare and present clear, evidence-based court reports.

• Provide expert witness testimony in family court proceedings.

• Work collaboratively with legal teams, children’s guardians, and partner agencies.

• Conduct assessments and care planning for children in proceedings.

• Ensure compliance with legal frameworks, including the Children Act 1989.

• Participate in permanency planning and decision-making for children in care.

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Experience in child protection and court work.? Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.? Knowledge of family law, care proceedings, and statutory guidance.? Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.? A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children.
