Responsibilities and Duties

A Hire Desk Controller plays a pivotal role in managing customer interactions and ensuring the seamless operation of equipment hire services. This position involves handling customer inquiries, processing hire requests, coordinating deliveries and collections, and maintaining accurate records. The Hire Desk Controller acts as the first point of contact for clients, providing information on equipment availability, specifications, and pricing. They work closely with internal teams, to ensure that the appropriate machinery is ready and delivered to customer sites as scheduled.

  • Responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online systems.
  • Processing hire requests and updating order statuses in the system.
  • Coordinating with engineering and transport teams to prepare equipment for delivery.
  • Addressing customer queries, complaints, and damages professionally.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards within the hire office.
  • Ensuring accurate administration of contracts and orders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ideal candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, strong organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT systems.
  • Experience in a hire desk or customer-focused role is advantageous.
  • Experience in Plant Hire.
