We are looking for 2 Personal Care Assistants to join a team supporting one of our clients in the Nelson area. The role will be varied and you will be supporting our client with a spinal injury to lead an individual and independent lifestyle in their own home and the community.
Please note you will need to be comfortable around smokers and pets, especially dogs.
Due to the location it is advisable to be able to drive to work
We have the following positions available:
1) Days: 18 hours to 36 hours per week
2) Nights: 20 hours per week (2 x night shifts)
Days of the week will be variable but are planned in advance.
Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness as overtime when needed is required.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

You must be self motivated, well organised, chatty, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Personal Care Assistants workers with experience of:

Giving emotional support to a person that was very active

Supporting with personal care
-
Administration of medication
-
Providing companionship
-
Household cleaning as part of the day to day routine

Working well and
-
Prior experience in critical care is preferred but training will be given
You should also have:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
