Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) school to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 9 pupil with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. This full-time position starts in July 2025 and runs for the entire academic year, with the possibility of extension.

About the Role:* Working 1:1 with a Year 9 pupil to provide behavioural and emotional support* Supporting the pupil's learning and helping them engage with the curriculum* Managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive routines* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff in a well-resourced setting* Implementing strategies from the pupil's behaviour and support plan

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ASC, or challenging behaviour* A calm, patient, and consistent approach with strong emotional resilience* The ability to build a trusting, supportive relationship with the student* Confidence in using behaviour de-escalation techniques (Team Teach or equivalent training is desirable)* A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs
