About the Role:
As a Construction Teacher in Blackpool, you'll be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality vocational education to students across various levels. You'll inspire and mentor aspiring carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople, guiding them through hands-on learning experiences and ensuring they meet industry standards and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in a range of construction subjects (e.g., carpentry, bricklaying, health & safety, electrical installation, plumbing).
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Support students in developing essential practical skills through hands-on projects and real-world scenarios.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum materials and teaching strategies.
- Foster strong links with local construction companies to provide students with industry insight and work experience opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the construction industry and educational best practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential:
- Relevant qualification in Construction or a related trade (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4, HNC/HND, Degree).
- Significant industry experience in a construction trade (e.g., carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, electrical).
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations within the construction industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Desirable:
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS) or a willingness to work towards one.
- Experience teaching in a further education or vocational training setting.
- Assessor or verifier qualifications (e.g., A1/TAQA).
- Familiarity with current construction curriculum and apprenticeship frameworks in the UK.
