This dynamic secondary school in Bispham, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our school.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will ensure that students remain on task, manage classroom behaviour, and facilitate the delivery of pre-prepared lessons. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising students in the classroom during the absence of their regular teacher.

  • Delivering pre-set lessons and ensuring students understand the tasks.

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Responding to students' questions and providing support as needed.

  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.

  • Following school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.

  • Working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school day.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children or young people in a group setting (e.g., schools, youth clubs, sports coaching).

  • Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is able to follow instructions and work independently.

  • Is reliable, punctual, and committed to the role.

  • Has a calm and professional manner.

  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding principles.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
