Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our team and work in various secondary schools across Blackpool. About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school day by supervising students aged 11-16 in the absence of their regular teacher. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising students undertaking pre-set learning activities across a range of subjects.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and focused atmosphere.
  • Following school policies and procedures, particularly regarding behaviour management and safeguarding.
  • Responding to student questions and providing guidance as needed.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the relevant teaching staff.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
  • Encouraging student engagement and participation in learning activities.
  • Collecting completed work and ensuring the classroom is left tidy.
  • Potentially supervising students during break times and lunchtimes.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong classroom management abilities and the confidence to lead a group of students.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their learning.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Educated to at least GCSE level (including Maths and English). A-Levels or a degree are advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
