About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Blackpool. Operating as a main contractor across a diverse portfolio of retail and residential fit-out and refurbishment projects, this role is ideal for a candidate looking to take ownership of cost management while contributing to quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Take accurate site measurements and produce detailed cost estimates.

Prepare tender and bid documentation, including bills of quantities.

Assess and value contract variations efficiently and fairly.

Source and obtain competitive quotations from sub-contractors.

Assist with procurement and purchasing of materials.

Conduct regular site visits to assess progress against plans and timelines.

Support in early-stage site preparation and set-up.

Identify opportunities for cost savings in materials and labour.

Contribute ideas to reduce environmental impact and improve waste management.

Represent the company professionally at all times, both on and off site.

Carry out any other duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential:

Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within construction, refurbishment, or fit-out sectors.

Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Strong communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders.

Desirable:

Experience working with both retail and residential refurbishment projects.

A team player with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
