The Role and Responsibilities �?

As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a student with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), both inside and outside the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Individualised Support: Working closely with a specific student to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

  • Pastoral Care: Providing emotional and social support to build the student's confidence and independence.

  • Liaison: Collaborating with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent and effective support strategy.

  • Reporting: Monitoring and documenting the student's progress and contributing to reviews and planning meetings.

About You ??

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEND students.

  • A strong understanding of different special educational needs and effective support strategies.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
