Tradewind are looking for a Youth Worker to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Blackpool, supporting children and young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships and help students grow emotionally, socially, and academically.

Your Role:

As a Youth Worker in our SEMH setting, you will support students both in and out of the classroom. You'll be a trusted adult figure who listens, guides, and mentors - helping young people build confidence, develop resilience, and make positive choices.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Building 1:1 relationships and delivering small group sessions on topics like self-esteem, communication, and social skills.
  • Assisting teaching staff with behaviour management and the creation of a nurturing learning environment.
  • Acting as a positive role model and advocate for pupils' wellbeing and development.
  • Contributing to personalised support plans and working closely with families and external agencies.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or SEMH/SEN setting.
  • A calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain firm, fair boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in youth work, health & social care, or similar (desirable but not essential).
