Blackpool Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults on a part-time basis (18 hours per week) for an initial period of 8 weeks.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established, integrated health and social care team, delivering high-quality, person-centred services to older adults experiencing mental health difficulties and their carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake multi-disciplinary needs and risk assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with the Care Act 2014.

  • Provide ongoing social work support and intervention for older adults with mental health needs and their carers.

  • Work collaboratively within a co-located, multi-disciplinary team, promoting an integrated and person-centred approach.

  • Contribute to service planning, delivery, and development, supporting continuous improvement across mental health services.

  • Ensure all practice complies with relevant legislation, local procedures, and safeguarding policies.



Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent).

  • Current registration with Social Work England.

  • Experience working with adults with mental health needs, ideally within older adult services.

  • Good understanding of mental health legislation and the Care Act 2014.

  • Excellent communication, assessment, and partnership-working skills.
