Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.
Provide support in Welsh and English, promoting the use of Welsh language across the curriculum and in everyday school life.
Work with individuals and small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and aid progression.
Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN), ensuring an inclusive approach.
Help to maintain a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
Contribute to assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils' progress as required.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.
Promote the school's ethos, values and commitment to bilingualism.
Person Specification
Essential:
Fluent Welsh and English language skills (spoken and written).
Experience of working with children in a school or similar setting.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
A flexible, positive and patient approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience supporting pupils with ALN.
Knowledge of the Welsh Curriculum.
First Aid training.
