Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (4-day)
TeamJobs is looking for a hands-on and motivated individual to join our client team as a Production Chemist Assistant. You will support the Production Chemist to keep the chemical processes running smoothly, carrying out daily checks, chemical additions, and quality inspections to ensure parts meet the highest standards.
About the Role
This is a practical role that includes handling chemicals (up to 25kg), testing baths, maintaining filters and equipment, and helping operate our waste treatment system. Full training is provided - all you need is a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
What you'll do
- Add chemicals and carry out daily/weekly checks to keep plating lines operational
- Perform routine tests and record results accurately
- Operate and maintain the effluent treatment system safely
- Check plated parts for cleanliness and quality, escalating any issues
- Carry out basic maintenance, such as filter changes and temperature checks
- Maintain safe working practices in line with COSHH and ISO 14001
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong awareness of health & safety (COSHH)
- Physically capable of lifting 25kg safely
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive, proactive, and eager to learn new skills
- Desirable (but not essential)
- A-Level Chemistry or equivalent
- Experience in electroplating, surface treatment, or lab testing
