About the Role:
As an Art and Design Teacher, you will work with students who have complex and diverse needs. Creativity is a central pillar of your teaching, providing students with a safe outlet for self-expression and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, accessible art lessons tailored to individual emotional and behavioural needs
- Encourage self-expression and emotional regulation through creative activities
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, pastoral staff, and the Dorset SEND team
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and trusting classroom environment
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture where all students feel valued and proud of their achievements
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience in art or SEN settings
- Strong background in Art or Art Education
- Experience working with students with social, emotional, or behavioural needs
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Creative, resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive teaching practices
