Development Engineer
We are on the lookout for Graduate/Trainee Electronics and Electrical Engineers who are looking to further develop their design engineering skills. As a Development Engineer with support and guidance, you will be responsible for development of design and product testing.
Development Engineer Responsibilities
- Working as part of a project team, reporting to the project manager / technical lead
- Input into initial design structure
- Build & test development unit
- Generate parts lists, wiring schedules & source components
- Populate manufactured PCBs & test
- Inspection & test (including fault finding on hardware equipment)
- Design electrical / electronic elements and sub-assemblies of test systems
- Work within project time-scales and costs.
- Communicate with customers and colleagues to clarify requirements / meet specifications
- Produce & maintain accurate electrical drawing packages (including schematics, bill of materials and wiring schedules)
- Work closely with a manufacturing team to inform and answer queries during assembly / test stages, providing accurate work status information to project manager
Development Engineer Requirements:
- Good understanding of manufacturing requirements (in terms of electrical production)
- Ability to work on a variety of projects
- The ability to anticipate problems and assess possible solutions
- Methodical & organised approach to working and producing documentation
- Working as part of a team
- Good team player / Precise and accurate
- Able to understand electronic drawings
- Good fault-finding skills
- Formal engineering qualification in electronic / electrical design
- Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria
- Familiarity with analog and digital interface circuits
- Design / drawing office experience including Autocad (or equivalent) an advantage
- Experience with National Instruments hardware/software an advantage
