Our client is a well-established and highly successful business based in Blaydon, known for its strong family values and supportive working culture. They are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Job You will be Doing

  • Assist with general ledger entries, journals, and reconciliations
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
  • Help with month-end and year-end reporting
  • Assist in preparing VAT returns and financial reports
  • Support budgeting and variance analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Provide general support to the Head of Finance and wider finance team

About You;

  • AAT qualified
  • Previous relevant experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Sage is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a small team
  • Have strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Have the desire to learn and progress
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Have a strong attention to detail
