Job Description

As a Project Engineer, you will act as the vital link between sales and installation activities. You will oversee electrical and mechanical installation projects within industrial environments, managing both customers and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.

Projects can range from single-day to multiple-week durations, taking place across the UK and Ireland. Typically, you’ll take ownership after the sales team wins an order, planning the project in detail (including site surveys), communicating with clients and contractors, and ensuring installations are completed to time, budget, and specification.

Onsite, you’ll kick off and brief the team, supervise subcontractors such as electricians and pipefitters, and oversee the start-up process. You’ll also manage resources, risk assessments, and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld at all times.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, balancing planning with practical site supervision, and taking full responsibility for successful outcomes.

The successful Project Engineer will ideally demonstrate:

  • A qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience managing electrical and mechanical installations in industrial settings
  • Proven project or contract management background
  • Strong project management, planning, and coordination skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal ability to manage clients and subcontractors
  • Strong problem-solving skills and confidence to make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (AutoCAD/Visio desirable)
  • A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland
  • Computer literacy, with experience of project management software (Salesforce Service Cloud desirable)

Why Should You Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Project Engineer who enjoys taking ownership and delivering results. You’ll work on varied and challenging projects, balancing planning with hands-on supervision, and play a pivotal role in ensuring installations run smoothly from start to finish.

With exposure to complex projects across the UK and Ireland, the chance to supervise skilled contractors, and the support of an experienced team, this role offers both challenge and reward.

If you’re a driven Project Engineer with excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, this is the role where you can make a real impact.
