We are currently seeking a SEND Sports Assistant to join our excellent supply team and work in SEND Schools across Northumberland. We support a wide range of schools throughout the area, ensuring we can match you with a setting that suits your strengths and interests.

As a SEND Sports Assistant, you will help deliver enjoyable and inclusive physical activities that encourage fitness, teamwork, and confidence among pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

The successful candidate will be energetic, reliable, and confident working with children and young people in school environments. Coaching experience and strong communication skills are essential. A DBS on the Update Service is required, or you must be willing to obtain one.

The Ideal SEND Sports Assistant Will Have:
  • Experience working with primary and/or secondary-aged pupils

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND

  • A passion for helping SEND pupils progress through physical activity

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • The ability to build rapport quickly with students

  • Key personal qualities such as patience, empathy, and determination
