Leader Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Blyth, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people supporting them to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.

This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with autism and additional needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
  • Support students’ social, emotional and academic development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents to ensure consistent and effective support.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with autism or special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEND support are an advantage but not essential.
