The Company:
Our client is a highly regarded and well resourced privately owned residential developer with an established reputation across Cornwall and Devon. Typical projects are low volume residential projects consisting of unique and varied design, both low rise housing and new build apartments.
Technical Coordinator - The Role:
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical candidate to join the team based in Exeter. The role can be tailored to suit experience, whether you have completed a Technical Apprenticeship with a residential developer, or you already have Technical Coordinator experience or even a full blown Technical Manager able to work across multiple sites, the company is interested in speaking with you.
Duties and responsibilities will vary based on the level of the role:
- Reporting to Regional Senior Management Team, specifically the Development/Technical Directors and Project Construction Manager.
- Manage the design process for design and build contracts, and traditional contracts with construction design portions.
- Act as the primary contact for the design teams, clients, supply chain partners with design responsibility and production teams.
- Facilitate design workshops to develop the design
- Manage compliance checks against specification, budget and client requirements.
- Advise on cost effectiveness of alternative methods of construction.
- Co-ordinate the design information supplied to /from our construction division – including the project supply chain.
- Manage design output to agreed programmes.
- Liaise with Local Authorities, Statutory Authorities, Building Control, Building Warranty Providers and Planning Departments.
Technical Coordinator - The Person
- You will have solid experience with either a national or regional residential developer\
- You may have completed a Technical Apprenticeship or have already gained experience in Technical Coordinator/Management
- Experience on 2-5 bedroom houses
- Innovative - ability to identify better ways of doing things
- A good communicator, able to liaise between different departments in order to achieve a common goal.
