An established, independent industrial door and metal fabrication specialist is looking for an experienced Project/Service Manager to join their North East branch. The business serves various industries, including defence, transport, retail, and commercial, delivering installation, servicing, and emergency repairs nationwide.

As Project/Service Manager, you will oversee the service and repair teams, manage multiple projects from start to finish, and ensure the smooth delivery of services to clients. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be liaising with clients, managing site surveys, producing quotes, and guiding a team of engineers to meet targets and deadlines.

YOUR NEW ROLE

  • Manage multiple projects, from site surveys and quotations through to completion and handover

  • Liaise with clients to assess requirements and offer tailored solutions

  • Prepare accurate estimates and quotations based on client drawings and site visits

  • Interpret structural and fabrication drawings

  • Lead and supervise the fabrication team, ensuring quality control and timely production

  • Provide clear instructions to field engineers and oversee work on-site

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (including BS EN 1090)

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and safety

  • Participate in the shared out-of-hours manager rota (approximately 1 in 9)

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in project or service management within industrial doors, shutters, or steel fabrication

  • Strong technical knowledge of welding and fabrication processes

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and targets are met

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills

  • Full UK driving licence

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • £42,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
