Our client is an SME manufacturing business who wish to remain confidential on advert stage. However on insight, they operate globally, have a sub 50m turnover, manufacture but also have an element of contracting, work on long term customer contracts and have a clear and dedicated commitment to their staff.

This Management Accountant Job
This role will support the Finance Manager in producing the monthly management accounts working on SAGE 50. You will be heavily involved in analysis to support actionable insights to the appropriate operational staff, whilst collating and delivering month-end reports, reconciliations and management data, that is accurate, reliable and on a timely basis working on a 5 day close following the transactional ledger close.

This role will involve accounting for the stock and work in progress, so it is imperative you have manufacturing experience. You will have technical accounting exposure as you will support in lease accounting. Given the nature of the business makes a product, and then offers a maintenance and repair service to their customers, you will be involved in project analysis by customer and ensure the correct accruals and prepayments are allocated appropriately along with deferred revenue. (A full and detailed specification will be provided)

This management accountant position is one that can progress and develop with the business, taking on more ownership and being involved in a variety of project work and analysis. You will work directly for the Finance Manager who is responsible for the full management accounts and analysis, and supported by an assistant analyst.

What is required:

  • The current finance system is outdated and whilst they are currently in the early stages of scoping out a new ERP system you will be expected to make the best of their system alongside excel. This means this role will need a high level of attention to detail with coding, and validating the numbers. Therefore it is fundamental you have a pure concept of accounting procedures, knowing the basics of bookeping, credit and debits and how it all flows through the system to be able to ensure the data coming out of the system is correct.
  • You will be an active CIMA studier, with a good level of management accounting and analysis experience ready to take on more responsibility.
  • Experience on SAGE 50 would be advantageous, along with being a confident user of excel - something the business relies heavily on whilst in the early stages of implementing a new ERP system.


Salary and Benefits
Salary for this position is up to £45,000 with a comprehensive study package. They offer a flexible start and finish times, with hybrid working with up to 2 days at home once an appropriate training period has been completed.
