Our client, a leading name in the Education sector, is seeking a talented and versatile accountant to join their close-knit team on a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. This varied and exciting role, is crucial for managing financial accounting, reporting, and taxation matters within the department, focusing on the organisation's subsidiaries and partner organisations. This position offers flexible working hours and the opportunity for hybrid work.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual reports and financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger systems to maintain accurate and timely financial data for budgetary control.
  • Ensure effective management and compliance of subsidiary corporation tax and VAT obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting and auditing standards, and financial regulations.
  • Intercompany reconciliations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CCAB recognised qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial reporting across various sectors with the ability to interpret and apply relevant Financial Reporting Standards
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and taxation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Education and or Charity experience is desirable but not essential
