The Salesians of Don Bosco have been resident at Thornleigh House for one hundred years. Some of the Salesian priests and brothers work in Thornleigh Salesian College and Holy Infants parish. The more elderly priests live at St Josephs, which is just across the road on Oldhams Lane. Thornleigh House is the head office for the charity, home to Don Bosco Publications and our UK Social Communications Office. Both of our houses are a place of welcome for Salesians from across the globe.

We are looking for experienced Cooks to join our small team working across both houses, normally catering for up to 20 people. You will work collaboratively with joint responsibility for menu planning, purchasing, stock rotation, cleaning and providing appropriate catering for the residents in consultation with the Manager. You must hold a valid CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety.

The team is responsible for ensuring very high standards of hospitality and hygiene so that our community is a welcoming and pleasant environment for residents and guests.

You must be able to work on your own initiative, be reliable and trustworthy. You will be well presented and have a friendly nature.

Working hours: Negotiable (daytime hours only)
