This is a full time Temp-to-Perm role, starting ASAP at a Secondary Alternative Education Provision in Bolton.

The basics:

Role: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant at primary school in Salford.

Start date: ASAP.

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.

Contract: Temp-to-Perm - move onto contract at end of 12 weeks.

Excellent pay: £95-105/day DOE for first 12 weeks - paid PAYE direct via Now Education. We don't use umbrella companies!

What you'll do:

  • Supporting a range of children with Social & Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH) that display challenging behaviours, as well as pupils with Autism that display Social & Emotional difficulties.
  • Some pupils are from vulnerable backgrounds so will need lots of empathy, patience and perseverance.
  • You will need to look out for triggers and employ preventative strategies and de-escalation techniques to help manage their behaviour so that pupils can focus on learning and the teacher can focus on delivery.
  • Tailored support in lessons, breaking down instructions and tasks so they are easily understood and the pupil feels they are achievable..
  • Working closely with the teacher, management, support staff, parents and outside professionals.
  • Contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive and collaborative work environment.
