Reeson Education is partnering with a vibrant secondary school in Bolton to find a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, focusing on helping each pupil reach their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teachers to support students across Key Stage 1 and 2. You will help create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that all students, particularly those with additional learning needs, are able to access the curriculum and thrive.

Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning
  • Assist in differentiating lesson content to meet the needs of all students
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and academic development
  • Support the teacher with classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher on a regular basis
  • Assist with exam preparation and provide pastoral care where needed

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional learning needs
  • Be patient, empathetic, and have a genuine desire to support students in their education
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents
  • Be adaptable and resilient, able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment
  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
