An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Handler to join a dynamic, independent chartered commercial insurance broker. You’ll play a key role in handling a diverse range of claims across both commercial and personal lines.

This is a varied and rewarding role with exposure to a wide spectrum of claims such as:

  • Property Damage
  • Business Interruption
  • Equipment Breakdown
  • Employers’ and Public Liability
  • Professional Indemnity
  • Directors & Officers Liability
  • Cyber, Terrorism & Financial Crime
  • Motor & Motor Fleet

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and review insurance claims to determine liability and policy coverage
  • Acknowledge new claims promptly and maintain clear communication with clients and insurers throughout the claims process
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering evidence and documentation as required
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, insurers, and third parties
  • Ensure all claims are processed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines (FCA)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all claims activity
  • Operate a robust diary system to ensure timely follow-ups and resolution
  • Consistently deliver high levels of customer service and promote best practices
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and insurers
  • Stay informed about industry developments, particularly in insurance and childcare sectors
  • Support Account Executives with detailed claims reports on larger or complex cases
  • Take part in training, assessment, and ongoing personal development within your T&C scheme

What We’re Looking For:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in commercial insurance claims
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Familiarity with a range of claims classes is highly desirable

Key Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Confident negotiator with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
