The Opportunity
Insignis Talent are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the Calibration & Maintenance Team of a leading multinational defence firm on a 12-month contract. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer to work within an experienced team supporting complex test platforms involved in the manufacture and testing of advanced systems.
As an Electronics Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Servicing and supporting Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE).
  • Performing fault finding and repair tasks down to component level.
  • Supporting routine calibrations and commissioning of test equipment.
  • Conducting drift analysis and assisting with the calibration of equipment covering a wide range of technologies, from DC to Microwave.
  • Interpreting technical documentation including instructions, handbooks, drawings, or specifications to guide maintenance and repairs.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff when required.


Role Requirements:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Minimum qualification: HNC or HND in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Solid experience in the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and systems down to component level.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles and processes.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues concurrently.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
  • Ability to work from technical documentation to perform accurate measurements and repairs.
  • A good understanding of SAP (desirable).
  • Experience working with Environmental Chambers (advantageous).
