Senior Process Safety Engineer

Job Purpose

Provide technical safety support to ensure effective implementation of process safety and regulatory requirements while following risk management processes. This includes compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Produce technical safety and process engineering deliverables as required.
  • Develop safety engineering philosophies, design HSE plans, safety specifications, and equipment specifications.
  • Chair and participate in formal process safety assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL target-setting studies; generate reports and manage subsequent actions.
  • Lead HAZID and SIL studies.
  • Contribute to project design assurance reviews such as P&ID reviews and constructability reviews.
  • Perform hazardous area classification in line with industry codes and guidance.
  • Develop and implement functional safety management plans.
  • Produce and review specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations, ensuring compliance with engineering quality and project management systems.
  • Provide technical support to projects as required.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory frameworks, legislative changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of process safety and environmental engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices across FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up phases.
  • Maintain awareness of international codes and standards.
