Job Title: HSE Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental (SHE) practices across all areas of the business. This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent compliance with legal, contractual, and internal standards, while promoting a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide managers in understanding and applying SHE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular occupational health, safety, COSHH, and fire safety assessments in line with legislation.
- Carry out surveillance audits across manufacturing areas to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensure all new employees complete health, safety, and environmental induction training and maintain accurate training records.
- Deliver Tool Box Talks and training sessions on safety, health, environmental, and quality matters.
- Implement action plans from external audits and business reviews within agreed timeframes.
- Report regularly to the Senior SHEQ Manager on SHE trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in maintaining and obtaining relevant health, safety, and environmental accreditations.
- Stay current with changes in legislation and best practices, advising on procedural updates where necessary.
- Collaborate with the SHEQ team to support initiatives, policy reviews, audits, and improvements.
- Carry out other duties as required, appropriate to the scope and level of the role.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Formal Health & Safety and/or Environmental qualification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in delivering training and presenting information effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Capable of working independently and proactively to manage workload and priorities.
- Experience as an internal auditor is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to align health and safety practices with broader business goals.
