Your new companyA leading Financial Services organisation with a network of offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an Indirect Category Manager to join their friendly procurement team in Lancashire for a fixed-term contract between 9-12 months. The role is based in Bolton and offers flexibility for hybrid working. Your new roleThe Indirect Category Manager will partner with key stakeholders in the functions and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the procurement strategy. The role will deliver category management strategies to drive efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The Category Manager will manage suppliers to develop collaborative relationships, drive performance, ensure compliance with all company and legal requirements, and mitigate business risk. The post holder will lead related procurement activities, manage tender programmes, and negotiate and implement contracts.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, assess, and challenge business requirements.
  • Coordinate the delivery of processes and initiatives, establishing best-in-class policies, processes, and services.
  • Develop and implement the Category Strategy when not supported by a Global Category Manager.
  • Manage UK&I Procurement processes, policies, and procedures (e.g., RFP, RFI) in line with local and Group requirements.
  • Negotiate and implement contracts for Indirect Categories, ensuring compliance with agreed service, performance, quality, and delivery levels.
  • Understand budget approaches with Finance and business budget owners to ensure budget definition, utilisation, optimisation, and compliance.
  • Utilise procurement tools and best practices to increase efficiency and quality, contributing to procurement savings and KPI objectives.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, it is essential that you are a senior-level Indirect Category Manager with experience of leading complex and high-value procurement projects. You will have developed and delivered indirect category management strategies within a large and complex organisation. Previous experience with the Financial Services, Professional Services, Corporate Services or related sector is essential.
