Temporary Accounts Assistant - Car Dealership

A busy and well-established car dealership, representing a leading global automotive brand, is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team temporarily.

You'll be working closely with the Dealership Accountant and Sales Administration team, supporting a variety of accounting tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role where flexibility and a strong all-round accounts background are key.

Kerridge / Pinnacle experience would be a great advantage.

Main Purpose of Role:

To assist with all aspects of the dealership's accounts function, including purchase ledger inputting, cashiering, and general ad hoc duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple areas of accounts and be comfortable adapting to the needs of a busy accounts department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process purchase ledger invoices, ensuring they are correctly authorised and coded.
  • Carry out cashiering duties, including banking, allocation of receipts, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems for easy retrieval.
  • Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and resolve invoice queries promptly.
  • Support the dealership accountant with ad hoc accounts and administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure work is completed within deadlines and in line with company procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous accounts experience is essential (automotive industry experience desirable but not required).
  • Confident in purchase ledger processing, cashiering, and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy office environment.
  • Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as needed.

Pay & Details:

  • Temporary role - hourly rate dependent on experience.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday.
  • Immediate start available.
  • On-site parking provided.
