We are working with a supportive and inclusive school in Bolton that is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, adapting learning activities and promoting positive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs.
Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting lessons to meet pupils' individual needs.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support.
Promote inclusion and contribute to a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting is essential.
Strong understanding of strategies to support pupils with additional needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2 or 3 desirable).
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
