We are working with a supportive and inclusive school in Bolton that is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, adapting learning activities and promoting positive engagement.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs.

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting lessons to meet pupils' individual needs.

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support.

  • Promote inclusion and contribute to a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.



Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting is essential.

  • Strong understanding of strategies to support pupils with additional needs.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.

  • Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2 or 3 desirable).

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
