We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bolton for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to join a supportive and caring school community.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), and speech and language difficulties.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.

  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.

  • Implement strategies to support engagement, learning, and behaviour.

  • Foster positive relationships to promote pupil confidence and independence.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals.

  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.



Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to individual learning needs and styles.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
