Introduction

The Development Engineer will be responsible for projects assigned to them, including the overall management of projects. Additionally, they will be expected to provide ongoing engineering support to manufacturing throughout the product life cycle.

This role is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave for a 12-month period.

Responsibilities

- Control of NPI processes and product lifecycle

- Assisting with manufacture of protoypes, validating and qualifying samples

- Failure analysis and yield improvement in early phases of production

- Worknig cross-functionally with quality, test and production to analyse custmer returns and implement corrective actions

- Working with quality and production teams as well as suppliers when problems occur with non-comforming materials

- Raise and action engineering change requests where required, participating in material change review boards meetings and changing master data, BOMS, Routes and Drawings as needed

- Domestic and international travel to customers, suppliers or training venues as required

- Participate in team based CI initiatives and implement agreed action plans

Requirements

-Degree/HNC in a relevant science or engineering discipline or equivalent experience

- Sound knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process techniques

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Methodical process orientated approach

- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels

- Careful attention to detail

- Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines

- Demonstrate a flexible and can-do attitude

- A good level of competence with MS Office applications for documentation and presenting reports

Salary

Annual salary range, flexible to fit experience
