Salary: £12.29 per hour
Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and experienced driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and/or passengers safely and efficiently between various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and/or passengers.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload cargo as needed.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers.
- Book on duty with TRM via telephone at the commencement of each duty.
- Obtain the list of 'fire kit' movements and enter them on Form TD1.
- Verify reporting for duty at the correct location by turning on the vehicle ignition.
- Carry out an 'A' Routine on the vehicle.
- Sign and submit the completed Form TD1 to the line manager for verification.
- Notify TRM, stores manager, and staffing officer if unavailable for work.
Work Routine:
- Normal duty hours: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1600 hours, with a 30-minute lunch break.
- 35 hours per week.
- Primary site: Bridal Road Vesty, with movement between various sites depending on daily activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and local traffic laws.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Standard DBS check required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience driving different types of vehicles (e.g., vans, trucks).
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic repairs.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
