Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the educational psychology service, ensuring high-quality psychological support is provided to children, young people, and educational settings.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the effectiveness and reach of educational psychology services across the region.

  • Collaborate with schools, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the well-being and educational development of children and young people.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to a team of educational psychologists, fostering a culture of continuous professional development and excellence.

  • Conduct assessments and interventions to address the educational and psychological needs of students, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

  • Advocate for inclusive education practices and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support diverse learning needs.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Educational Psychologist with a valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Extensive experience in educational psychology, including leadership or management roles.

  • Strong understanding of current educational policies, practices, and legislation related to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of strategic planning and service development in an educational context.

  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within educational settings.
